Freshbooks has a great iPhone App, which makes my life much easier when I'm not at my computer. I'd love to see a similar application for IAC-EZ, as I often have my iPod touch handy when dealing with money but don't have my computer nearby to input info.

Place a “Search Field/Link” on Top Every Page (like Freshbooks does) This would be a Big time saver!! Now it takes 2 or 3 clicks to get to the only search page you have taking up to 30 seconds of waiting before I can enter what I’m searching for. With Freshbooks, I just click the link at the top of every page and ta-da! I’ve typed and found what I searching for in less time than it takes for IACEZ to bring up its search page after clicking on the links.

Larger Lists [is now under review]

Lists are way too short. Need the ability to increase the size of the lists so I don’t have to keep clicking through all the pages looking for a needle in a haystack. Especially on the pages where you look at Contacts/Vendor and click on their name to see all their activities. Only 5 entries per page show up requiring lots of clicks to navigate between all the pages of entries. At least place a drop-down list asking how many entries we would like to display like Shoeboxed does as well as many shopping websites do. Drop down list could contain 25/50/100/all as options. You do have an option to show “2008/2009/2010/all” but those list can be long too requiring several pages of clicking.

Add a “Vendor” column next to “Contact” on the Outgoing/Incoming Entries pages. This saves the time of having to click on the entry to see who the vendor is, then clicking again to go back to the list. That alone can save up to 30 seconds! And if you have 20 entries to check, well, go figure 30seconds X 40 (2each)clicks = a lot of time wasted!

Look into the speed issue. The Freshbooks site speed just “Flies” on my 25Mbps Cable Internet with less than a second between most pages, but IACEZ lags behind and like I said in #2 above, I have to wait on average 7-15 seconds for links to respond. Don’t know if having servers in UK is causing this or if the Amazon Cloud services your developers are using are slower than the norm, but it’s the slowest website I have and it “really” slows me down. Could get so much more done faster if this site was faster. Maybe your developers are using or leasing older servers that are slow by today’s standards or low in RAM. Whatever it is, I don’t see how a small company with a slow DSL 1.5 speed connection can get any work done in a timely manner with the current setup.

This has really slowed me down: 1 – I search for a customer and create a page that lists all that customer’s entries. 2 – I click on an entry’s “Info” to view the entry in detail. 3 – I click on Edit to edit the entry. 4 – I make the changes (in this case, changes to vendor and deposit account) 5 – Click on Update Here it comes: 6 – Instead of returning to that info view or the previous list of that customer’s entries, it goes to a page of searches that was requested from some time in the past like the last time I went to the Main Search Page. It does not return to the search page list of the contact I was on before!! So I have to go back to “Contacts”, Find the contact, Click on the contact to get back to that list!!

Add Details to Invoice Report and/or Sales Tax Report [is now under review]

1. The Sales Tax Report is a bit confusing to me. First, I do not understand the discrepancy between the Amount Invoice and the Taxable Amount Invoiced I would like to be able to click on each heading and have IACEZ pull up a transaction reports of all transactions counted within that category. For example, I want to see all the transactions / invoices that are included in the Amount Invoiced (which I end up doing by using the Invoice Report), and also all the transactions / invoices that are included in the Taxable Amount Invoiced line. As you can see, in my data there is a big difference between these two, which I do not believe should be there. I want to go find the invoices that IACEZ does not consider taxable and see why. Similarly, I want to be able to pull up all the transactions for the Sales Tax Billed and Sales Tax Collected to see why I have a significant amount more of Collected vs. Billed. 2. The Invoice Report needs more data. In light of the above issues, I wanted to go look at all my invoices and see what IACEZ was counting. When I pull up the Invoice Report and select the date range for Q4 2009, I can see a list of all the invoices, their dates, total amounts and open amounts. However, I really need to be able to see the following columns broken out for each line: * Date (already there) * Number (already there) * Contact (already there) * Subtotal -- the pre-tax total of the invoice (ADD) * Original Amount --> I suggest to change the name to Grand Total (already there) * Open Amount (already there) * Tax Name (ADD) -- the name of the tax bundle as entered on the invoice * Tax Amount (ADD) -- the amount of tax on the invoice * Tax Collected (ADD) -- the amount of tax collected on the invoice * Category (already there) * Memo (already there) * Tags (already there) Without being able to see the subtotal and tax amounts for each invoice in the Invoice Report, I really cannot go back and audit or cross-check my sales tax calculations. Since I cannot go back and cross-check my invoices and sales tax amounts, I really don't know how I can accurately do my sales tax reporting and payments each quarter.

I know you are working on an iPhone App and am hoping it will come out soon, but don’t forget the Windows Mobile/Blackberry/Android Users either. Currently, when I bring up IACEZ in a mobile phone, I can only access the Dashboard and Trips. I cannot override the mobile html and bring up the full website. Would be nice to give us that option so we can add expenses on the go and look at the entire site and work on our books while traveling, etc. Yes, I have an iPhone, but I’m not a big fan of Apple and their restrictive ways of business. There’s a lot I like and lot I hate about the iPhone. I’m hoping the new iPhone OS 4.0 coming out this summer will improve the iPhone but I have also been following the progress and have heard many good things about the new Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 coming out later this year. I hope they really give Apple some serious completion!! So please don’t become a blind Apple fanatic and neglect the other users out there. If Microsoft really gets the new Mobile 7 right this time around, I may switch back to them on my mobile phone!

Place a “Enter new Outgoing/Incoming Entry” link on Every Page. In other words, make “Mr. Networth’s Smart Links” a longer more complete list that exists on every page. One click instead of 2 or 3 clicks to get there. I know 2 or 3 clicks seems like a small amount, but keep in mind, it’s not a desktop program, it’s cloud computing and sometimes I have to wait 7 to 15 seconds between clicks, sometimes longer than that. It adds up!

12/31/09: We have attempted to contact all voters on this feature to ask where more specifically they would like to see this. We have not received a response. We will need anyone who would like to vote on this feature to please leave specific comments or examples. It may be that we have addressed this in the various releases - so we need a bit of help :)
